Malawi October 2026 Missions Report

Project Name: Thyolo Prison Mother and Baby Project – Phase 3

1. Introduction / Opening Greeting

This month, we visited one of the orphaned children who was rescued and connected to a foster family through the ministry. During our visit, we shared the Word of GOD with the family, offering spiritual encouragement and fellowship. We also provided a bag of maize and a few essential household necessities, including soap and sugar, to support their immediate needs.

2. Monthly Summary/Key Accomplishments

Progress on the toddler room at Thyolo Prison has continued, although at a much slower pace than anticipated due to ongoing fuel challenges. Our hope was to complete the room by the end of October; however, we have unfortunately been unable to meet this target. Our garden activities have been significantly affected by the intense heat and prolonged dry conditions experienced this month. These conditions appear to be early warning signs of a possible El Niño-related dry spell, raising concerns about water availability in the coming months. One of the hand-dug wells we use to irrigate the garden has dried up completely, while the river is also beginning to show signs of reduced water levels. This has made it increasingly difficult to maintain consistent irrigation and has contributed to a reduction in vegetable production.

3. Current Challenges/Goals for the Next 90 Days

Despite the delay due to fuel challenges, we remain optimistic about completing the toddler room soon. Most of the required materials have already been purchased, and we have managed to obtain paint, paintbrushes, primer, and other necessary supplies for the finishing work. One of the hand-dug wells we use to irrigate the garden has dried up completely, while the river is also beginning to show signs of reduced water levels. This has made it increasingly difficult to maintain consistent irrigation and has contributed to a reduction in vegetable production. The decline in vegetable yields has, in turn, affected the income generated from the garden, making it more difficult to sustain our activities and meet some of the ministry's operational needs. As compared to last month where we were able to get $800 from the garden, this month we have gotten $547.

4. Call to Action

As we reflect on October, we are reminded that ministry is not without its challenges. There are seasons when progress is slower than we would wish, resources are limited, and circumstances beyond our control affect our plans. Nevertheless, our confidence remains in GOD's faithfulness and HIS ability to sustain the work HE has entrusted to us.

We are deeply grateful for every opportunity to serve, every life touched, and every step forward made through WeRemnant. Although we have not completed everything we had hoped to accomplish this month, we remain hopeful and committed to the vision.

As we approach the final months of 2026, we continue to trust GOD for provision, strength, wisdom, and the resources needed to complete the toddler room, sustain the garden, and extend our support to vulnerable children and families.

May all that we do continue to reflect HIS love, serve HIS people, and advance HIS Kingdom.

To GOD be all the glory for what HE has done, what HE is doing, and what HE will continue to do through WeRemnant.
